You want to upload a file of contacts, post returns... into the database via MyMip. Follow the steps below to do this.

Go to 'Import data' #

  1. Log into MyMip.

  2. From the left menu bar, navigate to the Import Data module .
  3. Then choose the "Import" submenu.

Steps import #

Go through the steps to import a file via the 'Next' and 'Previous' buttons to go to the next or return to the previous step.

  • Type: Select the type of data you want to import.E.g. a list of contacts, a file of mailIDs from bpost, postal returns....

  • Source: Chooses the format of the file you wish to import. E.g. csv, Excel... Depending on the type of data you wish to import (cf. step 1) different formats may be available.

  • Configuration: Specify how the values in your file should be "translated" to default values in Mip. E.g. country, language, gender....

  • Attributes: When you upload contacts you can choose to assign an attribute and do so at the individual, relationship and social entity level. To do this, click on the plus sign to the right.

  • Permissions: When you upload contacts, you can choose to assign a permission for a particular channel. To do this, click on the plus sign to the right.

  • Import: Import the file you want to upload by clicking 'Chose a file' clicking. Also provide the following information about the file:
    • header or no header
    • delimiter
    • format of date fields
  • Completed: You can only go to the 'completed' step when a file has been loaded in the previous step. If the file does not meet the requirements for the load, you will get an error message and the file will not be loaded.

Note: Which steps are available may vary by load type. For example, when loading a mail or return file, no attribute or permission can be added.

Follow-up and overview imports #

  • An overview of files uploaded through MyMip can be found through the 'Overview' submenu.

  • In this overview you can also track the status of your import. Depending on the size and complexity of the import, it can be done very quickly or take a little longer.
