Engager Communication Channels

The Engager (Target module) in MIP is the central point for effectively activating target groups (audiences) via various communication channels.
Engager not only takes care of sending, but also tracking, interactions, and impact measurement in MIP.

⚠️ Important: an audience on its own does nothing. Only when you create a push action via Engager will interactions be logged correctly and follow-up and analysis be possible.

What does Engager do?

With Engager, you can:

  • plan and launch actions and campaigns
  • Activate target groups (audiences) via multiple channels
  • Synchronize data with external tools/apps
  • Save interactions (send, open, click, response, purchases, opts, etc.) in MIP

Available push channels & synchronization

📧 Email

You can use email in three ways:

Option 1 – Direct shipping via MIP

  • Shipping is handled entirely by MIP.
  • shipping, design, and reporting are handled in MIP
  • audience is addressed in real time
  • no export required
  • all interactions are automatically logged
  • ⚠️ Warming up the MIP email channel is necessary. ⚠️
  • Ideal for 1-to-1, service, or trigger emails

👉 Suitable for controlled volumes, transactional & personalized flows, bulk mail, hyper-personalized (bulk) emails

Option 2 – Export & sync to Marketing Automation Tool

  • shipping and design are handled in an external tool (e.g., Mailchimp, Copernica, Brevo, etc.)
  • automatic export from MIP
  • audience is addressed in real time and synchronized to external tool
  • interactions (provided correct setup) are fed back
  • Ideal for 1-to-1, service, or trigger emails

👉 Suitable if the external tool is your primary email tool.

Option 3 – Export to CSV file

  • shipping and design are handled in an external tool
  • automatic export from MIP to SFTP
  • audience is not synchronized to external tool
  • interactions are not automatically fed back

👉 Suitable if the external tool is not managed by you or if there is no connection/integration with MIP. (least recommended)

📱 Text message

You can use text messages in two ways:

Option 1 – Direct shipping via MIP

  • Shipping is handled entirely by MIP.
  • you use the SMS interface directly in MIP
  • audience is addressed in real time
  • no export required
  • all interactions are automatically logged

👉 Ideal for reminders, reactivation, short & urgent messages, VIP treatments, administrative messages

Option 2 – Export to CSV file

  • shipping and design are handled in an external tool
  • automatic export from MIP to SFTP
  • audience is not synchronized to external tool
  • interactions are not automatically fed back

👉 Suitable if the external tool is not managed by you or if there is no connection/integration with MIP. (least recommended)

💬 WhatsApp

You can use WhatsApp in two ways:

Option 1 – Direct shipping via MIP

  • Shipping is handled entirely by MIP.
  • you use the WhatsApp interface directly in MIP
  • design & validation are done via the WhatsApp interface (designs)
  • audience is addressed in real time
  • no export required
  • all interactions are automatically logged

👉 Very powerful for conversational and high-engagement flows.

Option 2 – Export to CSV file

  • audience is not synchronized to external tool
  • interactions are not automatically fed back

📬 Direct Mail (postal)

You can use Direct Mail in one way:

Option 1 – Export to CSV file

  • Shipping, design, and personalization are handled by external partners (router, printer).
  • automatic export from MIP to SFTP
  • audience is not synchronized to external tool
  • interactions are not automatically fed back

👉 If the printer/router has its own SFTP or tool, we can create an integration for this.

☎️ Outbound calls

You can use Outbound Calls in one way:

Option 1 – Export to CSV file

  • Shipping, call script, and personalization are handled by an external partner (call center).
  • automatic export from MIP to SFTP
  • audience is not synchronized to external tool
  • interactions are not automatically fed back

👉 If the call center has its own SFTP or tool, we can create an integration for this.

🚨 Crucial to know

If you only create an audience without linking it to an action in Engager:

❌ become no interactions written off in MIP

❌ is no follow-up or analysis possible

❌ you cannot measure impact

👉 Best practice
Always use Engager to create a push campaign to set up, even if it is only for export.
