SMS Promotion in myMIP

Create an SMS campaign #

You can set up an SMS campaign in myMIP in two steps: first, the administrative framework (channel, name, campaign, timing), then the target audience, the gateway, and the message itself. This page follows the screens in the order in which you see them and labels each field as it appears in the interface. in the interface.

INTRODUCTION

What You'll Need #

An SMS campaign refers to things that must already exist. Make sure this is done before you start — trying to create something halfway through the wizard means you'll have to start over.

  • A target audience in Audiences. The wizard lets you choose from existing target audiences; it does not create any.
  • A campaign that the promotion is part of — or the name you want to give to a new campaign .
  • The message text, finalized and within the character limit (see step 4).
  • Shipment time: date and time.
  • A test list if you want to send a test email first.
STEP 1

Start the campaign #

There are three ways to access the same form:

  1. Using the button Toevoegen top → bottom Targeting choose Actie. You land on the Engager (Step 1) in Target Module.
  2. Using the Calendar (in the Target Module): Click the day on which the action should take place. The " Create Task " window opens with that date already filled in—which is convenient, because that way you don't have to correct the date fields later.
  3. Via Engager in theTarget Module: You're already in Engager (Step 1).
Please note Templates → SMS is something else. That creates a reusable SMS template, not a send campaign. For a campaign, you always use Targeting → Actie.
STEP 2

Fill out the General tab #

Step 1 of the wizard is called "General " and specifies what you're sending and when it runs. The first thing you do is change the channel: " Email" is selected by default.

Channel
Click " SMS." This determines which gateways and which settings you'll see in step 2.
Stock Symbol
The name that appears on the calendar and that you'll use to look things up later. Follow your household's convention, for example 202610 SMS actie 1 or the more detailed version 20260903_em_all_bonusKinderkleding (time period · channel · target audience · theme).
Description
Free-form explanation for colleagues. Explain the purpose here; don't just repeat the name.
New / Existing Campaign
"New Campaign " provides a free-text field for a new campaign name; "Existing Campaign " turns " Campaign Name " into a drop-down list. Link the action to an existing campaign if there are already other channels in the same flight — this way, the reporting remains consolidated.
Shipment Date
The time when the message must be sent. This is the date that is carried over from Step 2 into the " Scheduling" field.
Start Date / End Date
The campaign duration: the time frame during which results (clicks, sales, responses) are attributed to this campaign. The start date determines where the campaign appears on the calendar, not the send date.
Planning
"Ad Hoc " for a one-time send, " Recurrent " for a recurring schedule.
Tip Not ready to launch yet? Opslaan als concept saves the action without activating it, even starting from step 1. With Volgende you'll move on to the target audience and the message.
STEP 3

Select Target Audience and Gateway #

Step 2 is called "Audience & Gateway " and consists of three sections arranged one below the other: Target Audience, Gateway, and Settings for the selected gateway. The first two determine who receives the message and through which channel.

Test Lists
Default geen. This allows you to add a (test) list of addresses that on top of The target audience selection is included, regardless of the selection criteria. This is useful, for example, for forcing the inclusion of employees, executives, the marketing team, or store staff—they are often left out of a standard audience selection, while it is precisely important that they receive the promotion.
Target Audience
The selection from Audiences, for example Kopers Kinderkleding in laatste 2 jaar.
Consent
The permission node on which the action is based, for example /Brand/. Only contacts with a valid opt-in on this node will remain.
Number and percentage
The result appears below the selection, for example 16.709 (4%): how many contacts remain after filtering by target audience and obtaining consent, and what percentage of the database that represents. a percentage of the database that is. Always check this number — It's your only opportunity to check it before it's sent. It's your only opportunity to check it before it's sent.
Destinations
The node to which the response data for this action is written.
Gateway
The outgoing route. For the SMS channel, these are SMS (sent via the SMS provider) and SFTP (submission as a file to an external party). The list has a search field. Your selection here determines the content of the next block.
Planning
The actual send time of the gateway, pre-filled with the send date from step 1. If you deviate from this, this value takes precedence—so compare them side by side.
STEP 4

Formatting the message #

The third section, " Settings for the Selected Gateway," is where the SMS message itself is located.

ButtonWhat is it for?
EmojisInsert an emoji. Keep the character limit in mind—one emoji can count as more than one character.
TemplatesLoad an existing SMS template (created via Add → Templates → SMS).
VariablesInsert personal fields, such as first name or store. Always test this: the entered value is longer than the variable and counts toward the limit.
Insert date/timeInsert a date or time field.
Test messagesSend the message as a real text message to internal test groups to check the text before the actual send.

The counter below the text box #

For example, below the input field is 1 messages per recipient, 118 characters left. One text message is 160 characters; if you exceed that limit, the message will be sent in multiple parts, and the cost per recipient will increase proportionally. So don't just look at the remaining characters, but also at the number messages per recipient.

Indicators
Which set of metrics for the stock is tracked for reporting purposes? Standard is sufficient in most cases.
Output Type
Standard for standard shipping; Advanced opens additional settings for non-standard output.
Notification
With + Add recipients who will be notified about the execution of the action. For larger mailings, be sure to include at least yourself here.
STEP 5

Finalizing: save, have it reviewed, or launch #

At the bottom of Step 2, there are six buttons. Three of them complete the action, and they do something substantially different.

CancelClose the window. Any unsaved changes will be lost.
emptyClear the filled-in fields on the form.
PreviousBack to General, while keeping what you've already entered here.
Save as DraftSaves the actions without executing them. You can continue working later.
Send to Selection MonitorCreates a temporary selection based on the current settings— no test message (SMS, WhatsApp, email) is sent. You can view this temporary selection afterward in the Selection Monitor, where you can review it across various parameters and breakdowns (age, segments, stores, language, etc.).
Save & LaunchSaves and activates the action. From this point on, the shipment will proceed at the scheduled time.
Before you launch, checkthe following: The channel is set to SMS · The test lists contain only the addresses you have intentionally added (otherwise, those extra addresses will be included in the campaign unintentionally) · The number of contacts matches what you expect · The schedule in step 2 is the time you intend · The counter is set to 1 message per recipient.
AFTERWARDS

Find and Manage the Action #

A saved action appears as a colored bar on the Calendar, on the start date, in the color of the channel (SMS = green in the legend at the bottom). Click on it to Update Task to open — the same two-step form, now filled out. Next to the action name is the status, for example Processed.

Using the menu on the event itself , you can also edit, duplicate, cancel, delete, or confirm it. Duplicating is the fastest way to create the next instance of the same event: the form will be populated with all the existing settings, and you’ll only need to adjust the name, date, and text.

Escape closes everything Esc Closes the entire window at once, even from step 2, without saving and without a warning. If you are working in an existing action, close it with Annuleren.

Follow-up #

  • Selection Monitor — status and volume of the selection before and during execution.
  • Campaign Performance — the results of the promotion within her campaign.
  • Campaign Manager — all campaigns and their durations; search here by campaign name if you can't find a promotion on the calendar.
